I have this picture on my PC in a picture folder where I see it a lot, as a constant reminder that it is not all gold that shines. And that opportunities that look to good to be true, usually are.

Today this grabbed my attention. It is part of a screenshot taken of one of the credit mailers I am an upgraded member in. Do you see these numbers? These people must be clicking ads for hours every day to earn credits to send their mails out.

Sometimes I have to be brutally honest

It is not a pleasant thing to do but I could not live with myself if I didn't.

On this and other networks I had several encounters with newbies that were using the chat messenger. They asked my advice to earn money quick or they used the messenger to spam me with links or asking me to join this or that.

My response is normally that using the chat to send offers to people you do not know is not professional and that they will accomplish nothing.

Are business social sites the best spot to promote your craft business?

It depends on what your are promoting and how.

Internet lingo

This may seem a strange remark coming from me, being an admin of both kooiii and Socialtisers.

However this applied to me about a year ago. I remember how frustrated I was sometimes.

Sure I love to interact with others and participate in discussions as well business related as discussions that have nothing to do with business at all.

However my main focus is to build my business by building valuable connections, building a trustworthy on-line presence and expanding my business with powerful tools and services. I hate wasting my time on spammers and scammers.

An other important thing for me is to have training and top level support for the tools and services I am using.

The issue with TE's and downline builders is...

Most TE's nowadays have a downline builder where you can put your ID's in, by all means keep on doing that! However the number of programs listed in the downline builder is limited in most cases. Some larger TE's have usually a bit more however I have seen many that have listed only 5-10.

Think about it! Do you really expect this to work? Of course not.

 

Still this is the approach I see on many profiles, blogs, pages and articles.

Many members join, paste their opportunity on their profile and spend a lot of credits on credit campaigns. And then wonder why few join and why the few that joined (mostly only to earn credits) do nothing.

This does not work in real life and it does not work in online marketing either. 

When you are new on a social network give people the time to get to know you. Be helpful by giving tips on issues you know something about. At least you should know enough about the products/services you advertise to answer questions.
